Folk Art Lecture This Sunday
Bob Miller of Ken Farmer Auctions and Appraisals, Radford, will speak on Queena Stovall and American Folk Art this Sunday, January 25, at 2 p.m. at the Daura Gallery, Lynchburg College.
Local Artist Exhibits Encaustic Works at Babcock Gallery
An exhibition of prints, mixed media and encaustic works by Pamela W. Wallace will open with an artist’s reception and gallery talk at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22 in Sweet Briar College’s Babcock Fine Arts Center Gallery. The show will run through March 13.
Appomattox Business Honored by Longwood Center for the Visual Arts
The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts presented their thirteenth annual Community Achievement in the Arts Awards, Saturday evening, April 19, 2008, in Farmville, Virginia. Baine’s Books and Coffee, a landmark Appomattox business located on Main Street, was recipient of the Business Award. Bryan Baine and his wife Debbie were present to accept the honor.
