“Be Creative @ Your Library” and “Express Yourself @ Your Library,” this years Summer Reading Program themes at the Appomattox County Library System are in full swing. As a part of the programs, Shelley Crichton, owner of Aaamazing Face Painting Balloons and More, came to the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library on July 10th to host an introduction to balloon art. With over a dozen participants for this event, there was a lot of laughter and fun as those who attended learned how to pump, twist, twirl and knot balloons into different animals and creative balloon hats. If you have not joined, it is not to late, there are still plenty of prizes to earn. Stop by either library to sign up.
As the Page Turns: Appomattox County Library System News
The Appomattox County Library System will start their Summer Reading Program on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at both county libraries from 9:30am to 1:00pm. They will give out balloons, plastic book bags, and bookmarkers just for signing up. There will be two programs: “Be Creative @ Your Library” from patrons up through 8 years of age, and “Express Yourself @ Your Library” for patrons 9 years of age up through high school.
