Wagner’s Response to Bolling on Energy Bill
According to Jody Wagner for Lt. Governor’s office, Jody is looking forward to a conversation on Virginia’s future energy solutions, and to highlighting her record of job creation in the Warner and Kaine administrations. Jody is proud to have played a key role in creating nearly 200,000 new jobs in Virginia since 2002, all while Bill Bolling tried to stand in the way, according to Wagner’s office.
Gov. Kaine Orders Important Changes in Green Commonwealth Challenge
Governor Timothy M. Kaine today issued Executive Order 82, which will significantly expand efforts to reduce the energy and environmental impact of executive branch agencies and institutions. As part of the Governor’s Renew Virginia initiative, this policy promotes energy and water efficient buildings, encourages reductions in employee travel and commuting, and will minimize the use of disposable materials.
Gov. Kaine, Germany, Forge New Agreement to Address Climate Change Issues
Governor Timothy M. Kaine and Germany’s Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Sigmar Gabriel, signed a bilateral Joint Declaration at the German Embassy today that commits each government to the common goals of combating the effects of climate change, achieving greater energy efficiency, collaborating on energy research and development initiatives, and developing a more climate-friendly economy. This is the second bilateral climate change agreement signed by Governor Kaine. In February, Governor Kaine signed a similar agreement with the United Kingdom.

McDonnell Sends Offshore Energy Letter to Sec. Salazar

Gov. Kaine Announces Energy-Saving Donation in VA State Parks
Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced a donation by Virginia’s electric cooperatives that can cut energy usage and save the Commonwealth money for years to come. The co-ops are donating 4,200 compact fluorescent lights (CFLs), allowing the state to replace all incandescent lights in Virginia’s 35 state parks.
