Governor Kaine Honors 2009 Outstanding Faculty Award Recipients
Governor Timothy M. Kaine today honored 12 Virginia educators as recipients of 2009 Outstanding Faculty Award for excellence in teaching, research and public service.
48,000 Hours of Community Service
Nearly 700 students contributed 48,000 hours of community service in 2007-08 to earn Lynchburg College a place on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for 2008.
Open House for Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
Lynchburg College will host an information session on Tuesday, February 17, for prospective graduate students interested in the new Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, which will be will launched in the fall of 2010 in partnership with Centra.
Appomattox Resident Kerley Makes Sweet Briar Dean’s List
Appomattox resident Donna C. Kerley, daughter of Dorothy Tuck and wife of Gerald Kerley, was named to the dean’s list at Sweet Briar College for outstanding academic achievement for the 2008 fall semester.
Lynchburg College to offer “Wrap” Session on Affordability
Prospective students and parents are invited to meet with Lynchburg College (LC) President Kenneth Garren at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, for a special Wrap Session (Within Reach and Personal) about the value of a Lynchburg College education. Visitors will also be given a campus tour and an opportunity to eat in the dining hall at no charge.
Journalism in the Outdoors Event
The Virginia Outdoor Writer’s Association spring Journalism in the Outdoors Event will be held May 7-9 at the Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center near Appomattox. This event provides a great opportunity for journalists, free-lance writers and editors to meet and network with new contacts and experienced professionals in a variety of communications media.
