The Jefferson Choral Society will present Love Me Tender, a pops concert featuring great love songs of the 20th century, Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. and Feb.15 at 4 p.m. in the Joy and Lynch Christian Warehouse Theater at the Academy of Fine Arts.
Holocaust Survivor to Speak
As a child imprisoned in Auschwitz, Eva Mozes Kor was a victim of medical experimentation performed on twins by Nazi doctor Josef Mengele. She will share her story in Lynchburg on Feb. 5, first with students at E.C. Glass High School and then with the public at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Ballroom in Hall Campus Center at Lynchburg College. A book signing will follow.

Kids seem to hate, at least when looking back years later, piano lessons, and they hold those lessons against parents for the rest of their lives. While other kids were doing all kinds of fun things in the afternoon – riding bikes, playing Nintendo, and committing minor felonies – you were trying to learn a passage from Beethoven’s “Moonlight” Sonata. But even at a young age Brenda Barringer, better known to fans of her music as Broda, was different.
