Veteran’s Affairs Clinic to Serve Appomattox County
Ground has been broken on the new Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic on 1600 Lakeside Drive in Lynchburg. The clinic is now expected to open in the fall of 2008 with about 9,700 square feet of clinic space. The facility will provide outpatient primary care and general mental health services for approximately 5,200 veterans among the estimated 14,000 living in the area. Although management will be through the Salem VA Medical Center, the clinic will serve the cities of Lynchburg, Bedford and Buena Vista and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell.
