The Evergreen Music Festival will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008 from 11-8 p.m. This year’s lineup will feature alternative country, old time, folk, rockabilly, and blues. The performers are Blue Line Highway, the Honey Dew Drops (winners of A Prairie Home Companions‘ songwriters contest), the Red River Rollercoasters, Petr Liska, The Taylors, and Max and David.
Visitors to this event will enjoy music, art, antiques and vintage wares under the test, CDs, fresh lemonade and coffee provided by Baine’s Books and Coffee, and two acres of sunflowers to cut for your own. For the kids, there will be horse rides, face painting and free hot dogs!
Be sure to join the fun at White Oak Farm in Evergreen, just three miles past Appomattox on 460 E, turn right onto Old Evergreen Rd. (630), go 1 mile to the train underpass and the entrance is across the road. Food is prepared by Pork n’ More. Pre-day tickets can be purchased at Baine’s Books or True Value Hardware for $12 or that day for $15. Kids 10 and under are free. This is a benefit for the Appomattox Presbyterian Church Youth Ministry. More information call 434-352-9562
